Help us make a plan for women and girls accused or convicted of a crime
The Queensland Government is developing a plan to make the criminal justice system better for women and girls.
To help us get this right, we want to speak to people with first-hand experience, including women and girls and people that work with them in the criminal justice system.
Take our short survey now and tell us what you think needs to change (closes 28 February 2025).You can also come to one of our meetings or workshops, have a yarn with us or share your story below.
We want to hear from women and girls with lived experience who...
are currently in women’s correctional centres or youth detention centres
have been in watchhouses, women’s correctional centres or youth detention centres
are subject to community corrections or youth justice orders
are or have been, before the courts as accused or convicted persons
we would particularly like to hear from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally or linguistically diverse communities, and/or people who identify as living with disability
We also want to hear from people who work in the criminal justice system, including...
legal services and specialist community legal centres
community justice groups
academics
non-government organisations
